In the Great Lakes trivia contest, Matt is the big winner. Matt, I mailed the Jelly Bellies. He correctly answered (nice google) that the term "Siamese twins" originated with the Barnum & Bailey side show act of Chang and Eng Bunker, who were joined by cartilage at the sternum. Their livers were fused, but independently complete. Modern surgical practices would have allowed them to be easily separated. They eventually settled in North Carolina and married a set of twins. The twins squabbled, so two households were set up and the Bunkers would alternate homes. Between then they had 22 children. They both died on the same day in 1874. What a fascinating story!
