KT's Summer Job

Friends came in handy this summer, as Katie was referred by Camille for a three-week stint at the Apple Commission Hospitality Center. She did such a great job greeting visitors from all over the world, that her boss told her that he'd always have a job open for her. We have heard such good comments about our baby and her apple work this summer. Go girl!

Boise Live

Thanks to some enlightened fantasy footballers, a fun weekend was planned and carried out that involved some great camaraderie and bonding. Thanks for letting me attend, even though I am not an active participant in the league. The event was held in Boise, and included some flag football, good food, Gilson wiffleball, movie going, a rousing game of hearts, swimming, and the highlight of the weekend, the live fantasy draft for the upcoming season. (August 24-26)

The Annual Garage Sale

The garage sale is well-documented on KT’s blog, but I just wanted to give kudos to the girls for a great job. They had a record take this year. Love those Honduran aprons.

Grandchildren

Amy and kids stayed with us for a few days after the reunion and helped KR get ready for the garage sale. I have to say, these six grandkids are the light of our lives. Being a grandpa is even better than I thought it would be..... (August 20-24)

The Merrill Reunion

All of the extended Merrill Clan got together for a few days and had a great time! There were way too many great pictures to choose from, and I may have gotten a little carried away here....but there were just TOO many that I loved.....so bear with me. The theme was "Our Amazing Ancestors". We went to the Chelan water slides, jet skiing on the Columbia, to Church together, had several nice dinners, went golfing and Leavenworth exploring, and a lot of good old-fashioned visiting. Aren't families fun? (August 15-19)

Awash in Tomatoes & Peppers

I think I planted too many pepper and tomato plants. Thank goodness I held off on the zucchini.

A Convoluted Trip and the Anderton Reunion

Amy and kids stayed for a few days after our Chelan week. We all enjoyed Olivia and Ethan's developing personalities. I headed out with the Dovers, Utah-bound, on July 28 - 29th, taking a few days to visit in Morgan. Then I drove BACK to Boise, and picked up KT and KR at the Boise Airport on August 1st. We spent a few days in Sun Valley and then headed BACK to Utah for the Anderton Reunion on August 4th. Idaho was very smokey, with all the fires they have been experiencing. Here are some Sun Valley pics.

The Anderton reunion on August 4th was very nice. We have not had a reunion on that side of the family for a long time. There was a large contingent from many branches of the family tree and Dad Anderton was very pleased with how it turned out. Definitely something we have to do more of in the future. A few of our pictures for you below, including one of Barry giving a presentation on the Andertons. (July 28-August 7)
