Canning Mania

Our canned fruit supply had thinned out considerably, so we decided to make 2009 a canning year. I think we got a little carried away with the pears - when I bought the four large boxes, it didn't seem like a lot. But after about 12 hours of pealing.....anyway, we did several variations on cherries (there was an abundance of freebies this year), tomatoes from our garden, peaches, raspberries, and pears.

Quebec Experience

We spent a very enjoyable 10 days in September (8-18) with our traveling friends, the Gundersens, in the fair Province of Quebec, Canada. Pictures say a thousand words. What a beautiful world we have to enjoy.

Some pictures: 1) at the Montreal Insectarium - KR measuring her weight in ants, 2) KR trying on penguin garb in the Montreal Biodome gift shop, 3) they had women in the old French army?, 4) I asked, she agreed, 5) riding the Montreal subway, 6) across the St. Lawrence near Quebec City, looking south, 7) The Citadel, Quebec City, 8) walking in Old Quebec, KR and Barb Gundersen, 9) Mike in the red shirt, very eager to get off as soon as possible, 10) cruising the St. Lawrence, 11) St. Lawrence whale,  and 12) Montreal Temple visit on last day.

Ellensburg Rodeo

The Andertons enjoyed what we hope will become a regular tradition at the Ellensburg Rodeo. If you are looking for a rodeo experience that is a cut above the norm and yet still has a small town feel to it - this is the place. Labor Day in Ellensburg, Washington.....be there! KR did a great job catching some of the rodeo shots with her new telephoto lens.

Houston Jaunt

KR and KT took a short trip down to Houston (August 28-September 5) to help out with and get acquainted with the most recent addition to the Anderton Clan. Matt & Megan are the proud parents of our latest grandson - here he is:
