Chasing Autumn Leaves

We had a wonderful autumn get-away (October 12-21) in New England with Ric & Sharon after leaving Houston. We had sun, rain and snow, and enjoyed the changing leaves. Why are there so many Dunkin' Donuts' in New England? We crisscrossed New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island seeing the sights, eating good food, and having a great time. Some of the highlights:

New Hampshire

White Mountains and Saint-Gaudens NHS

Vermont

Barre Granite Quarry, Woodstock, Brigham Young Memorial and Joseph Smith Birthplace

Massachusetts

New Bedford, Norman Rockwell Museum, Lizzie Borden House, Cape Cod, Freedom Walk, JFK Library, Museum & Birthplace, John Adams NHP, Minuteman NHP, Saugus NHS (where KR's ancestor worked as a prisoner of war) and Salem NHS

Houston...Houston...We Have a New Grandson

We were headed to New England to see the leaves with Ric & Sharon and decided to combine that trip with a stop in Houston (October 6-11) to see Matt, Megan & Elijah. Elijah was to be blessed on Fast Sunday in October, so it really worked out well. We enjoyed the Houston rain (when it rains, it really rains), a trip to the Houston Natural History Museum (outstanding), seeing the progress M & M are making in being new homeowners and parents, and participating on Sunday in Elijah's blessing. We are very proud grandparents. Elijah was blessed in Matt's blessing outfit - gotta love the hat! Now I need to change the blog header for the new addition.

The Terra Cotta Warriors of Xi'an (a traveling exhibit of actual pieces from the Chinese finds in Shaanxi Province) were being displayed as a special exhibit at the Museum and it was exceptional. An unexpected treat.
