Washington Byways

I took a little two-day round trip up into the Northeast corner of Washington while KR was hosting a Relief Society birthday celebration. It was a part of Washington I had not been to before and is actually quite spectacular. North of Creston and Wilbur, Roosevelt Lake behind the Grand Coulee Dam swings to the north. Lake Roosevelt is known for its house boating. I spent some time at old Fort Spokane at the confluence of the Columbia and Spokane Rivers, near Hunter, Washington. Very pretty spot.

Memory Lane

I am starting to scan all of our old slides and negatives, or will start to do so in the near future. A large percentage of our pictures are in the form of slides (about 14,000 to be exact) and have not been seen, other than perhaps a quick slide show upon development. As I digitize and distribute copies, I thought I would share some here in a feature I will call Memory Lane.

I want to take you back to a simpler time... it was Fall Semester 1974. Here are the happy BYU students in their 400 s.f. basement apartment with the luxurious decor (a Chilean flag). Glowing pregnant mom with happy future father. No cares, no worries, and no assets. He turned out to be such a beautiful baby.

Cruising

KR and KT went on a spring-break Mexican cruise (April 11-16) and just missed the flu outbreak. Whew! Do these two look like they were having just a little too much fun? I think they should be charged an excess fun luxury tax.

March Madness Update

Well, Mark and I finally picked the teams to carry us to victory. It was close, but we wrapped it up on Saturday night with a victory by Michigan State. When North Carolina also won, no one then could catch us - the trophy is proudly displayed on the living room coffee table (it is still there as of this posting). The fact that it is directly over the Holy Bible is merely a coincidence.
