We enjoyed some time with Matt, Megan & Eli in Houston in June (June 7-18). When we planned this we thought June would be a nice cool month, before the real heat hits in July and August. Well....wrong. It was hot AND humid. But there is air conditioning and Eli was as cute as ever.
We took some side trips as usual and enjoyed some of the beauty of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Some of the highlights: 1) the museum and surrounding area where the assassination of JFK took place in Dallas, 2) the stockyards in Ft. Worth - KR trying on some very expensive cowgirl boots, 3) the Will Rogers Memorial near Tulsa, 4) burning at the stake at the Cherokee Heritage Center in Tahlequah, 5) Mike posing a mile from Texarkana (really - hope you get the reference), 6) the mansion house at the Cane River Creole NHP, 7) KR at the Johnson Space Center, 8) South Padre Island, 9) KR on the WW2 carrier Lexington, 10) the endless sorghum fields of South Texas, and 11) enjoying the serene beauty of the San Antonio Missions. Thanks for being such a great host Houston Andertons!
