I had read about a rib place in Portland in an airline magazine, so I checked it out on the way through. It is worth the visit, easy to find, has convenient on-street parking, and good, fast service. Not your national-chain feel for sure. Never tell me I don't give out useful information in this blog!
My ultimate goal, however, was to find the final resting place of Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. Through an interesting series of events, the huge plane has ended up in McMinnville, Oregon, a short drive south of Portland. An impressive air and space museum has been built there to house the Goose, as well a hundreds of other space and air artifacts. The building had to be big to contain this truly impressive creation. If you are going down I-5, take some time to connect with the Goose.

Megan and I watched the Aviator for the first time a couple of months ago. Very cool plane! We'll have to stop there someday. Megan likes your new banner.
