The Family Gathers II

After a few days to refresh from Roslyn, we all met up again in Seattle on July 23rd. Of course, Grandpa had to take the kids to the waterfront for a visit to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, a ride on the new Seattle waterfront wheel, a burger at Red Robin, and people watching. The grand finale was a Mariners-Yankee game in the evening. As we stood in line at the wheel, we heard that Ichiro had been traded to the Yankees. As the game started, it was so strange to see him in right field in pinstripes. The end of an era.

The separate families departed over the following days and left us aching for the next time we can all get together, which is becoming more and more difficult.

The Family Gathers I

We thoroughly enjoyed our reunion spread over more than two weeks from July 10th to the 27th. Parts of the fam arrived and left on different days, so it was a fluid group. We spend five days (July 16th through the 20th) with the complete family in a rented house in Roslyn. It was part of a community with a clubhouse and pool, so we basked several days at the pool, as well as doing other activities ... just being together. The bulk of the remaining time was spent in Wenatchee.

Quick Trip to Utah

Aren't families wonderful? We made a quick trip to Utah, leaving on July 2nd and returning on the 9th, to make some memories. KT, Jon & Amy's families were able to spend the 4th of July holiday with us in Morgan with our extended family. As you can see by the pictures, we had a wonderful time. We had a visit from pirates, spent some time in the pool, did our patriotic duties, and had a jet flyover from Hill AFB. It was also great to be with Mom for a few days and take her to church services. The weather was perfect.

Our little running group made the pilgrimage up to Henefer for the "fun run" and won several medals in different age groups. They also won most of the major prizes in the raffles - to the amazement of all of the locals. Those Andertons are always the lucky ones.
